Question
Can I buy a Cybercab?
Not yet. You can tell Tesla you want to buy one for commercial use, but there is no order, price or delivery date.
Tesla is taking interest from businesses that want to buy Cybercabs, but has not published pricing, delivery timing or owner-operator terms. The answers below come from Tesla’s own pages and its Q3 2026 earnings call, checked October 22, 2026.
Mersul makes software for people who will run Cybercab fleets, so we follow this closely. We are not affiliated with Tesla, Inc. and have no inside information.
The details
What people ask, and what Tesla has said.
Can I order a Cybercab today?
No. There is no order page, no price and no delivery date. What Tesla offers is an interest form: you give your name, company, deployment region and what you are interested in, one option being “Cybercab fleet vehicle purchasing”, and Tesla says a representative will contact you.
Tesla fleet purchase interest formCan an individual buy one, or only a business?
Tesla’s own FAQ answers the question “Can I purchase a Cybercab vehicle?” by inviting anyone interested in “a fleet or an individual Cybercab vehicle for commercial purposes” to fill in the form. So one car is in scope, but only for commercial use. Tesla has not offered a Cybercab for personal use.
Tesla Cybercab FAQCan I drive it myself?
No. Tesla says Cybercab has no steering wheel, pedals or mirrors. It is built to carry passengers on Tesla’s Robotaxi network, not to be driven, so owning one only makes sense as a business that earns from rides.
Tesla Robotaxi pageWhen will Cybercabs be available to buy?
Tesla has not published a date. On its Q3 2026 earnings call, asked when Cybercab will be available for customers to buy, Lars Moravy said Tesla is trying to get Cybercabs to customers by the end of 2026, and that every one built so far goes to Tesla’s own Robotaxi fleet. Elon Musk added that the vast majority of Cybercabs will be Tesla-owned. The date is a forecast from the call, not a delivery window.
How much will a Cybercab cost?
Tesla has not published a price for a Cybercab bought singly or in fleet quantity. At the We, Robot unveiling in October 2024, Elon Musk said you will be able to buy one and that Tesla expects the cost to be below $30,000. That was an expectation stated at a launch event, not a price list, and Tesla has published no price since. Any per-car economics you see, including in our calculator, rest on an assumed price, which is why the calculator makes it an input you set.
Tesla’s We, Robot recording, at 10:28If I buy one, can it earn money on Tesla’s network?
Tesla has not published how an independently owned car joins its Robotaxi network, what share of each fare the owner keeps, or when that money is paid. On the Q3 2026 call Ashok Elluswamy said the first customer-owned cars could join the network around the second quarter of 2027, speaking about Model Ys rather than Cybercabs, and without terms.
What would I need to run one?
Whoever sells the car, a driverless car still needs charging, cleaning between rides, tires, glass, recovery after a breakdown and somewhere to wait between trips. Nobody is in the car to notice a spill or a flat, so someone has to watch for it and send help. You can hand that to a management company, rent a depot stall, or run it yourself with software.
Forecasts from the earnings call are what Tesla’s executives said they expect, not published terms. The call, with timestamps, is recorded on the purchase status page.
